Hi,
I'm currently crafting a tabletop RPG campaign and had an interesting idea. I'm considering integrating real-world cultural and religious elements into my game to add depth and realism. Specifically, I've been exploring the concept of qibla directions (the direction Muslims face during prayer) and how such a feature could be adapted into a fantasy setting.
For those familiar with the qibla and its importance in the Islamic faith, how would you suggest incorporating a similar directional element into a fantasy world's religious or cultural practices? Would it be through an ancient deity, a mystical force, or perhaps a legendary artifact that characters must orient themselves towards during certain rituals?
Moreover, how can I ensure that such integrations are respectful and enriching rather than superficial or tokenistic? I'm keen on creating a respectful homage rather than misappropriating cultural elements.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, experiences, and any resources you might recommend. Has anyone tried something similar in their campaigns? How did your players respond?
Thanks for share yor opinions.
